What in 2020, can I be grateful for?
What will I leave in 2020?
What will I take into 2021?
I also spend some time talking about some celebrations from last year, because you have to find some joy in the mess.

This week I sat down with one of my best friends, David Beavis. It's actually because of David that we are as good of friends as we are. He is one of those kinds of people that are naturally great friends. The kind that is intentional and remembers most of the little things you tell them, check in on you consistently, support your dreams. It's kind of annoying. It's for these reasons and many more reasons why I chose him to be one of the best men at my wedding. That's why it sucked when David and Luara, his wife, moved up to Portland. 
David and I talk about his dream of being a pastor, what it means for him as a white man in America, and given all that has happened with equity and justice in the year 2020, I ask how his approach to his job as a Pastor has changed and he shares how he hopes the Church engages in this pivotal moment in history.

This week I sat down with my guy, Gustavo Boldrini, from the Goose is Loose Podcast. I was excited for the conversation for a couple of reasons: one, this is the first of many collabs to come; two, we always have some great conversations on politics, society, faith, and life in general. Gustavo is a husband to his wonderful wife Chelsea, he is a soon to be lawyer, a Christian, and an ex-libertarian. He and his mom immigrated from Brazil when he was a kid and is now a U.S citizen. He and his wife both identify as Afro-LatinX and that has led to some very interesting dynamics as they have navigated being a Black couple in predominantly white spaces.
I respect the hell out of this dude because Goose is one of those dudes that will always do what he says he will do. He is always thinking about others and what is best for the people he cares about. That truly comes out in this conversation, as we discuss politics, faith, and what its like living life as a Black person in Orange County.
